Your Happiness Matters

A lot of people prefer to remain in their relationship at the expense of their happiness. Some just think it’s gonna get better with time while some have accepted it as fate and they are living with it. I must tell you, “In everything you do, whether in your relationship, with your daily life, in your place of work, anywhere you find yourself, your happiness matters.” No one is destined to live an unhappy life neither is it fate for your relationship to be an unhappy one. What are you still doing in a relationship that only brings out the worst out of you? What are you still doing in a relationship that makes you shed tears like a baby? Also, what are you still doing in a relationship that will keep bringing you sad memories?

Don’t tell me it is love because true love brings happiness to a soul. Of course, there are bitter moments attached to every relationship but they are not meant to last forever. Love results in joy, love brings good and happy memories, it’s not the other way round. If you are in a relationship and you are unhappy, of course, you have to try and make things work out, but if things are not going the way it should and you think sacrificing your own happiness is the best option, you are wrong. Your happiness should matter to you every time. The best thing is to leave that relationship if it’s been feeding on your happiness. Leave the relationship if it’s been feeding on your smiles. Leave the relationship. if it’s been feeding on the always happy, joyous and awesome you. We all are destined to live for just a certain period of time, why would you want your own life to be an unhappy one? Why would you want your own life to be of tears and torments? Why would you want your life to be filled full of sad memories when you can also have happy ones?

Your happiness only depends on you and no one else. Live your life in a way that will bring you happiness. Do things that will bring good memories. Don’t ever conclude that it’s your fate. Don’t ever decide to let your relationship or anything else feed on your happiness. You deserve to be happy. Don’t let anyone change that mindset of yours, but always remember your happiness lies in your own hands and that you deserve to be happy. Go live a happy life and do away with all the negativity surrounding you. Your relationship should bring you happiness, not sadness or weeping.

So many people often get ‘comfortable’ and don’t know how to get out of the relationship purely because there is nothing visibly wrong. However I don’t think I could live with the what if’s I’d constantly ask myself if 5 years down the line I was in the same position because I was too scared of the unknown. When you’re not happy, change is good. Scary but worth it.

Love and friendships should bring out your best qualities and make you grow, so you have positive self-esteem and confidence. If you spend more days unhappy than you do happy, then you are in the wrong relationship. or have the wrong set of friends.

Yes, breaking up with my ex was the hardest but best thing I ever did. Eventually I could see him without the blindfold that love covers you with and I could see him for what a horrible person he really was.
