If you’re an author of one or many books, you should be using Twitter to help sell them!
OK, you still need to be promoting your books through the promotion sites, but this little tip will enable you to sell a few more books and gain more readers. Why? Because most people LIKE the personal touch.
Make sure you have your Twitter notifications turned on so that you receive an email every time someone follows you on Twitter. Getting too many emails? Put all your Twitter notifications in a folder and deal with them once a week.
Whenever Twitter informs you of a new follower, go to that person’s profile on Twitter, follow them, retweet their Pinned Tweet and then send them a message. It’s that simple.
You’ve shown an interest in that person. You’ve taken time to follow them back and spread the news about something they’re interested in. Now it’s time to gently tell them about YOUR news!
All you have to do is click on the Tweet To button and include a message along these lines. “TFTF! did you know that MY NOVEL is #reduced to $0.99 at (LINK) #pleaseshare” Hit Tweet and you’re done?
I know that unless you’re a full-time writer, you won’t have time to do this for every new follow. But if you can respond like this to some, you could sell another copy or two of your book!
