A one-minute pep-talk is all it takes…

You have a moment before you are required to deliver your presentation/speech. A moment which is normally devoted to panicking, double checking notes, more panicking, then maybe more note checking and a quick once over to make sure you haven’t got food down you. Sound familiar?

If I was twenty-three and never married, I’d say that it’s pretty scary and unnecessary to be married at such an early age. Too bad, because I happen to be one of those in the Twenties & Married club, haha. What is there to lose? That’s the question for those who aren’t married so early.

“RULES FOR HAPPINESS: Something to do, someone to love, something to hope for.”- Immanuel Kant

I love Immanuel Kants’ Rules for Happiness. I agree with him 100%. According to him, people are happy when they have these 3 things: Continue reading Happiness… Want Some? (1 min read)

Let’s finally admit, once and for all, that no one keeps New Year’s resolutions. (Well, okay, maybe a handful of perfectionists, and a couple of motivated-by-the-possibility-of-imminent-death types. But no ordinary people.)

During one of my homeschool sessions with my son; he surprisingly asked me this question: “Is it REALLY HARD to be an ADULT?”

I was really caught off guard with the question especially coming from a toddler. Many things run in my mind… Do I look stress to him? Does he think I am unhappy? What goes in that toddler mind? So, I calmly asked “Why do you say that?”

In today’s digital era, we could be married by Facebook status but not actually in real life. We could be in love, but never actually say ‘I love you’ in person. Falling in love is easy but staying in love requires a lot of work. After years of living under the same roof, we often forget to show love because other things took over –work, kids.

There are a lot many benefits, but in this post, I’ll just stop myself at seven.

1. Good listener: If she can read a book for hour’s all together, she would be more than interested to patiently listen to you.

2. Buying gifts for her is easy: Obviously, she would love a book; all you need to know is her favorite genre or author.

3. Good memory: This means she would remember all the important dates, including your mom’s birthday.

4. Curious: Anyone who enjoys reading is always interested in knowing or learning about something new.

5. Teach you things: Since she is well read, she obviously knows a thing or two that you don’t.

6. Fine spending time alone: All a reader needs is a good book and a nice and quiet place to read it.

7. She will encourage you to read: Which will not only increase your knowledge but is always better than watching some meaningless chick-flick together.

I: That’s great! Why do you think so?
