Stop. Wait just a minute. What the heck just happened?  In just 24 short hours, your weight fluctuated a whole 6 pounds and all you did was sleep.  Is this your imagination?  Surely your scale had a full blown breakdown over night.

I have a newly spry and happy go lucky 14-year-old daughter. She is in full-blown teenager mode and I find myself in the thick of this obscure awkward phase of our relationship. Parenting along side of the teenage GIRL is an odd slippery slope and sometimes a really fun precious place to be.

It happens to the best of us but I’m pretty sure it’s an isolated girl thing.

We busy fem fatales accidentally put our fashionable, stretchy workout pants on inside out! (not backward, but inside out) Allow me to paint you a visual. Wearing yoga pants or leggings inside out is when the stitching and lining are actually showing. The tag and all of its machine washing instruction glory is waving in the wind for all to see. It’s also highly possible that the white triangle crotch area is fully exposed and completely visible. OH YEAH, have you been there? ? Continue reading It’s a Girl Thing (2 min read)

Well, what can I say, it’s that time of the month again for me and my “raging bull” (that’s how I call it) is back full force. I feel less than great, and before I know it, I am back on that all too familiar emotional roller coaster ride, switching back and forth between feelings of wanting to cry all day and wanting to murder everyone in sight (well, not really…or yes actually!). The Importance of Being A Lady (1 min read)

Elegance. Class. Character. Manners. The world today is filled with tabloids and reality shows, hardly any of the headliners on a regular basis even somewhat allude to one of the four words that can all define and describe a lady.

To be a lady is an art. To be a lady is to be cherished. To be a lady is to be respected. It may not be easy, but the life of a lady is one well spent.

I’m Devoreaux, a style and etiquette blogger at The Prep Pursuit. I often talk about the difference between a woman and a lady on both my blog and my YouTube channel. Every female is a woman; but not every woman is a lady. A lady is defined as a woman who is polite, refined and well-spoken in everyday encounters.

Growing up in the southern region of the United States, I’ve never considered anything other than being kind, respectful and pleasant to others in daily life. But the older I get, the more I find that my outlook on life is rare. I’m trying to change that. Bring back class and manners. Make it cool again.

The most important thing about being a lady is that you put others first. The golden rule stays true throughout all thoughts and actions, always do unto others as you would have them do to you.

Being a lady is a challenge, but the life of a lady is certainly well worth it and always an enjoyable one!
