I am lately hearing a lot of buzz going on about ‘Going Organic’ or ‘Keeping it Natural’. Almost immediately, all the shelves at my favorite store are filled with all these unknown brands of skincare and hair-care products that have graphics of leaves and flowers all over them! Does having two leaves and a flower printed on a bottle of shampoo mean that it is natural? However, we Indian women have been using products directly from nature for skincare and hair-care for centuries. Listed below are a few of these products that any Indian women will swear by!
Shikkakai For Hair
Shikkakai is a kind of fruit found in India. This Fruit is sun-dried and ground into a fine powder. This powder is then mixed with lukewarm water into a paste and used for washing the hair. Just like a shampoo minus all the chemicals. It makes your hair very smooth & shiny but moreover, it makes the hair very strong & healthy!
Besan For Face Pack
Besan or chickpea flour is used very commonly in Indian kitchens. This flour has another great use to it. Mix it with some milk or curd into a paste and apply it all over your face. Wait for about 10 minutes and wash it off. You will simply be mesmerized at how your face glows just after a single use! It makes the skin smooth, supple and gives it an unbelievable glow!
Turmeric For Face scrub
Turmeric is the most valuable and useful herb that can be found in nature. It has so many many advantages to it, listing it here will not even be possible (Google It! :P). One of those many uses is in the beauty department. Turmeric powder mixed with some granulated sugar and water into a paste is like the best scrub ever. It reduces pimples, discoloration in the skin and excess facial hair. It also brightens the skin and brings out a beautiful glow that no amount of cosmetics can give!
