It’s official. In about fourteen days, I (as will other college students all over America) will be starting the first day of my last year in college.
I just can’t believe how fast time has flown by and that summer is almost over. In some ways, I am excited and in others a little nervous. For the first time in a while my summer was productive. I have successively completed two internships and stepped up my involvement in two student organizations I was apart of.
As the tail end of summer draws near, I am starting to feel just a little (okay more than a little weary) from all this work but I have hopeful assurance that this will afford me a better outlook after college.
Not to mention I genially love the work I do and I have got to meet, interview and work with some pretty amazing people around Austin. I truly believe that I have grown so much over the summer.
But on those days when I am not feeling so swell, a niggling thought always creeps it’s way into my mind. Especially on my rest days or slow work days.
Am I truly doing enough to be a standout amongst my peers? Am I even ‘good’?
Sometimes, I see classmates or friends landing ‘cool’ jobs, opportunities or jetting off somewhere ‘exotic’ that I would love to do but I have to remind myself that the things I am doing are good too. Everyone starts small.
I have to constantly remind myself that people typically only post the good things online.
With that in mind, I put my refocus and tell myself “I am good.” Which is one reason why I started my own blog.
Just remember, a village doesn’t build itself in one day.
- Everyone had to start from the bottom before they could rise to the top.
- We are all capable and able to create great things and achieve great things.
- Don’t let self-doubt and worry hinder your progression.
- Every day is a great day to start working towards your goals.
P.S. Can I get a ‘woot!woot!’ for my first feature post on The Millionaire’s Digest!
