If you start out without it, the rest of your day could be out of whack (Secret: I don’t usually eat breakfast… But you catch my drift.) I’ve learned the key to conquering Mondays is to be motivated. Find something to get you through the day, and be happy about it. It’s easier said than done, but I found that trying and putting forth the effort is better than not trying at all.

One of my son’s friends wore a “Make America Great Again” cap to a sporting event we all recently attended together and it really caught me off guard. Let’s finally admit, once and for all, that no one keeps New Year’s resolutions. (Well, okay, maybe a handful of perfectionists, and a couple of motivated-by-the-possibility-of-imminent-death types. But no ordinary people.)

“We’ve got this gift of love, but love is like a precious plant. You can’t just accept it and leave it in the cupboard or just think it’s going to get on by itself. You’ve got to keep watering it. You’ve got to really look after it and nurture it.”- John Lennon

When I lost my son three years ago, the excruciating agony shooting through my body was the worst I’ve ever known.  It was hurting like hell. No amount of human power could ease the unbearable pain I had gone through. I almost lost all the capability to feel and to think. The writing was the only task I can manage that does not require anything I can’t. I’ve known it since young. Writing when life was difficult had been my way of life and an automatic thing for me.

During one of my homeschool sessions with my son; he surprisingly asked me this question: “Is it REALLY HARD to be an ADULT?”

I was really caught off guard with the question especially coming from a toddler. Many things run in my mind… Do I look stress to him? Does he think I am unhappy? What goes in that toddler mind? So, I calmly asked “Why do you say that?”
