If You Want to Embrace Your Future, than Stop Saying This to Yourself

1. I’m Not Educated Enough

Many of us have been brainwashed into believing that we have to “go to school and get a job.” Because of this, people disable themselves from a race that they could have won.

2. I Don’t Have Enough Experience

Some people think they don’t have enough experience, so they worry themselves into not living their dreams. These people are basically saying, “I’m not good enough.”

3. I’m Too Old or Young

Age doesn’t matter, unless you think it does. Most people let others tell them that they are too old or young. This excuse only leads to other excuses.

4. I Don’t Have the Health

Helen Keller was blind, deaf, and speechless, yet she was able to make her mark in history. Franklin Delano Roosevelt had polio and was still able to run for three terms during the biggest depression in American history. You can do anything if you put your mind and heart to it.

5. I Don’t Have Enough Time

People who “don’t have time” generally don’t want to make the time. They want the success, but they won’t make it a priority. We all have time to make it happen. What these people are really saying is that they don’t know how to get started.

6. No One is Supporting Me

Many people act like they have to succeed by themselves. They’ll blame their spouse, kids, parents, and boss for not being able to live their dreams. The fact is that they only have themselves to blame. These people also use the excuse, “I don’t live in the right area” or “You don’t know what I go through.”

7. I Don’t Have the Money

This the biggest excuse on the list. In fact, most people make the other excuses to avoid admitting this one. The fact is that we all have money, but we have to learn how to use it. Most people simply don’t want to use their creativity to make their dreams happen.

I’ve defiantly fallen into one if not more of these categories before. I try to just push through and do it any way. Sometimes I feel like it’s a waste, but after I complete everything I feel proud and accomplished.

The last one maybe should be revised but the rest of the things you’ve said are more or less correct. Saying that you don’t have the money to do something can mean lots of things. It can mean you don’t have money spare to experience that, it can mean that you don’t want to commit the money to that thing, or it can even mean that you literally don’t have enough money. The rate of homeless and unemployed people around the world is quite high. I know you’re assuming everyone reading this probably has a source of income. It’s just a bit rude to say that people should just learn to manage their money when they may not have money to manage

I agree with you . Not everyone have enough money . Son, this one could be checked. But the rest of them are quite possible . We humans are likely to be lazy , make excuses and blame others for our own actions.

This is a very insightful post! Such pertinent points. Everthing that you said emphasises the need for us to take risks and personal responsibility for our progress and contribution in life.

It’s easier to make excuses than to grab the bull by the horns even though the rewards of risk taking are far higher and fulfilling. Great work.

Thank God I was raised by a “no excuses” mother. She wouldn’t hear them, she wouldn’t allow them to affect her or us. She always taught, “Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way.” I listened, and live my life being responsible for my “this way forward” moves to this day.

If I have to crawl…I’m going to make it happen. Tears streaming, teeth clenched, but getting to where I NEED/WANT to be, because I AM WORTH the extra effort getting there requires.

Gosh darnnit…I believe it takes more time to NOT do then it does to get it done!!!

That’s a kind reminder to push ourselves off the boundaries we create for us because nothing in this world can make us feel incompetent if we want to soar high.

Great words, though it is easier said than done. I am the sort of person who, in the right mind, would take these positive words and enhance my life with them instantly. When I’m either too tired or just feeling lazy words like this are hard to absorb. Am I the only one who experiences this?

  88. Polly White 2 years ago

No, I procrastinate too. This is empowering stuff, though. We have our own responsibility and the buck stops here. However, I think we all deserve a second chance too.
