That’s it… just take responsibility for your actions. ALL of your actions.
Our minds have a tendency to always chose the option with the least resilience, or the least amount of pain. That’s why in situations where we are failing or struggling, we blame external circumstances. Because its far harder to take responsibility for your actions and act accordingly, than to blame others or your circumstances.
Realize that to whom or what you shift blame/responsibility on, is also whom or what you are dependent on. The two go hand in hand.
This year i had a terrible statistics lecturer. Instead of playing ” poor me” and ultimately failing and blaming it on her. I took the responsibility for passing that module and spent extra time reading up on every topic, extra time practicing each equation and so on,to make up for her level/style of teaching.
Instead of being dependent on her to pass, I became dependent on myself. Consequently I finished with a 1st in that module.
It goes with everything in life. External circumstances can only affect you as much as you allow them to. Don’t allow them to take control, do not become dependent on the way external circumstances decide to treat you. Take responsibility and drop the “poor me” attitude that’s holding you down. You are capable of so much more than you can imagine.
