Have you ever wanted something for so long but you then find out that you can’t have it? After hearing about that thing you’ve wanted for so long but then find out that it’s not obtainable for the time being, you start to think about how sad it is for you to not have what you wanted. Your thoughts start to fixated on that one thing you’ve wanted and as time goes by, it keeps getting worse. That’s something known as Dwelling.Dwelling is when you fixate your thoughts on something that you really don’t need to fixate on. It also means to not let go of something as well. Just think about it. Have you ever wanted, for example, to get that dream job you’ve wanted? Let’s say that you don’t get the job. What do you do next?
There are actually TWO ways you can take while the decision is entirely up to you. You could just dwell on it, regretting that you did not get the job you’ve always wanted. Of course while dwelling on it, everything eventually gets affected in your life. Your mood, your future, even your lifestyle starts to get the best of you.
HOWEVER there is another route you can take. You can just move on from it as if it didn’t even existed and go on with your life. That right there is NOT dwelling on it but rather moving on.
We as human beings always at some point in our lives tend to dwell on certain things that really we shouldn’t be dwelling on. Yes it IS hard to not dwell on certain things but sometimes we just can’t help it!
If you yourself are wondering how to not dwell on certain things, here are some tips to keep in mind for this concept of life:
-As soon as a bad thought comes, try your very best to brush it off your shoulders and move on with your life.
-If it isn’t a big deal, don’t dwell on it. Just move on!
-If it IS a big deal, find a way to resolve the situation as soon as possible.
-Don’t let the little things hold you down! Really they’re just little things so be sure to brush them off your shoulders and forget about them BEFORE it becomes a big deal.
I know it can be extremely hard to not dwell on certain things but it IS possible to brush those things off before they start to get worse. It’s a matter of WHEN and HOW you yourself brush those things off that are holding you down.
And like I said before, if it is something that is a big deal, find a way out of the situation while also finding a way to resolve it as well!
Always remember this golden rule, or at least one of them in life itself:
Something happens, don’t dwell on it if it’s not a big deal. If it is a big deal, find a way to resolve the situation. Once it’s been resolved, brush it off your shoulders and move on. Moving on is the MOST important thing to consider in life.
if we didn’t have this very important skill, who knows if we could all succeed!
