“You’re only here for a short visit. Don’t hurry, don’t worry. And be sure to smell the flowers along the way.”― Walter Hagen

What if you met Walter Hagen and he said “You’re only here for a short visit. Don’t hurry, don’t worry. And be sure to smell the flowers along the way.” Would you take the time to listen?

I am enjoying the outside, while sitting on the back porch. My favorite shade tree is laden with huge lime green leaves which illuminates the tree with a haloing effect. This glow is so significant of summer; everything is bright and sunny.  The landscapers are mowing the grass, which I love the smell of fresh mowed grass. Somehow, I feel in touch with nature and recall how I longed for summer to be near, and now it’s here.

Tick Tock

My life is like a clock

Continuous oscillation

Tick tock

Oscillation, is a repetitive variation, typically in time and can occur in anything including a persons decision making.  Our abilities to make sound decisions can sometimes be tricky tasks. Idleness and complacency can extinguish our creative senses thus blurring our purpose. Feelings of complacency, even though a pleasant feeling of security, should be in moderation as we don’t want to be unaware of some potential danger.

However, measured

Every nanosecond treasured

tick tock

I feel we must endeavor to make every moment of our lives meaningful. You know our lives can not be measured by anyone but ourselves. Thus the reason why we should make our best effort to understand that life is not something where one size fits all. Let’s embrace our individuality and apply it to our everyday routine.

Hells bells are beckoning

Is it time for a reckoning?

tick tock

There are times in life when we have to step back to move forward. I feel it’s wise to take an assessment of ourselves on a regular basis and be prepared for the unexpected. Keeping in tune with our thoughts is important for our own mental health. We don’t have to make this an intellectual exercise – keep it simple and doable.

Rewind the clock, I say

Bless me one more day

Tick tock

Perhaps we can’t rewind the clock in our favor but we can learn to spend our time wisely. We don’t come into the world with an expiration date so we must treat each and every day as a gift.

My continued journey here

will be without fear

tick tock

Truly, a major part of life is the journey. The prize at the end is everything we have gained along the way. There may be hurdles along the way, and even fear. Ruts in the road are like wrinkles upon one’s face – signs of character. We can’t determine what is positive if we don’t see the negative.

As the pendulum swings

unfolding pivots

 mesmerizing motion

tick tock

Our lives are constantly in motion and constantly unfolding. Pivotal events can be of critical importance and not always within our control.  Let’s be prepared and not be spellbound by fakery and trickery. Keeping our eyes open, our minds clear and being content with ourselves is empowering us to empower others. When all is said done, we can individually feel we have contributed to mankind and the universe.

Cheers!

Priorities line up at every step of our life, right from the birth to the heavenly abode they always highlight the purpose of our soul. When we step into the world our priorities( about which we are unaware, but our parents do take care of it!) include sleeping, drinking milk, crying, throwing hands and legs, again drinking milk and again going to a sound sleep.
