Guilt is a deep emotional experience that you have when you commit an act that goes against your own moral standards of conduct. There are varying levels of guilt that are determined by the circumstances surrounding the action that caused guilt to form. Regardless of the severity of the guilt, feeling guilty, or believing that you are guilty, is not easy to deal with. However, the first step in winning this struggle is to admit to your actions. Take responsibility whether you do it within yourself, or with someone else. Then, take some time to meditate on what you said, or did. Ask yourself: What motivated me to do this? Could I have done anything differently? Is there any way to may this situation better? How can I avoid this from happening again? Finally, think of some positive things you can do, and do them. For instance, help an elderly neighbor, give a homeless person a meal, reward a hardworking employee, call family members that you rarely speak with, or donate to a charity. It’s important to own your actions. Try to take steps to make it better, and endeavor to change your course, by doing positive things. Positivity always helps to erase negativity, but if you don’t do positive things genuinely, you will regress and fall back into to feelings of guilt.

Finish What You Have Started

“Much of the stress that people feel doesn’t come from having too much to do. It comes from not finishing what they started.” David Allen

There are many things in our lives that we wish to change. That may be getting rid of bad habits or implementing new good ones. We set goals, promise ourselves, get a planner, get a coach, set reminders but still after a few days or maybe weeks, we give up. We get distracted or do not succeed in seeing any results, and so we do not finish it. Continue reading Finish What You Have Started

Take responsibility!

That’s it… just take responsibility for your actions. ALL of your actions.

Our minds have a tendency to always chose the option with the least resilience, or the least amount of pain. That’s why in situations where we are failing or struggling, we blame external circumstances. Because its far harder to take responsibility for your actions and act accordingly, than to blame others or your circumstances. We struggle so much in our daily lives. We aim to be great spouses, husbands, wives and children. However, what happens to your spirit, when your mistakes overshadow who you are as a person, in someone else’s eyes? So, I made a mistake! I spoke out of term and my words were received horribly. As a result, I was called heartless. Big deal right? Not if that person is a husband or wife.
