Sleep then my Princess by O. N. Stefan – Book Review

Stephanie has lost her husband and child in a car accident. She moved to Arizona leaving her job to start a new life. Things, unfortunately, do not pan out for this lady. She becomes suspicious of a few phone calls. She then becomes aware of having a stalker. The creepy kind that comes and takes your clothes or keeps making you aware of their existence but not tell you who they are. On top of everything, Stephanie is also experiencing flashbacks from the past. A hallucination of some sort taking her to a place that she feels she has been before. It is a vision of a girl being trapped in a chicken coop. She seeks help from the police but they do not believe her no matter how much she tries. She has no way but to save herself from the inevitable. However, as soon as she is almost getting somewhere the stalker captures her. The first thing about him is that he is born as an adult. He is in search for his parents however due to not being as pretty as everyone else; he is disregarded and discriminated. On 16 June 1980, Chris Yates smashed the U.K. carp record with a 51.5 lb. leviathan from Redmire Pool in Herefordshire, England. For years, as a young inbetweener in the late 80’s, the awe of super-sized carp remained an elusive fantasy, with captures of significantly smaller fish restricted to all things under 5 lb. Big fish were the stuff of dreams, full of magic and unattainable mystery; at least until we found Crakemarsh Pool. An old estate lake sat in the grounds of an ancient, abandoned manse crumbling in neglect and despair. One of those places that ooze yesteryear, in surroundings filled with pre-history, barrows, and Roman settlements.
