I’m a curious person by nature, which is both good and bad. Being curious makes me find meaning, learning about everything around me, but I always end up with the feeling of not knowing enough.
I recently read an article here at the Millionaire Digest, and it made me think that we really don’t need to be an expert on any field to change the world. You just need to be kind.
Let me tell you a story. It was my birthday and I was turning 30 and we decided to go to a bar to celebrate a friend’s friend, who’s band was playing there. We wanted to share our support and had so much fun, but the best part wasn’t the music.
I needed to go to the bathroom, and as I was washing my hands and looking at myself in the mirror, I straightened my hair very quickly because it was something I was not used to and I felt weird about it. I also have a hard relationship with vanity, self-love, and my outlook. (I don’t know if I don’t want to appear as shallow or…)
When I was just about to leave, a girl that was beside me told me: You look beautiful. It was as simple as that: You look beautiful, and that made me smile.
I felt a deep connection there, and caught a glimpse for a moment. It might seem stupid, but these three words changed my whole world. It changed the story I used to tell myself.
I never really felt beautiful. Pretty, yes, but not in an outstanding, magazine-like way. Those words made me feel worthy of being noticed by my looks, and it played a big part on my confidence as a person, and not just as a writer.
It was the first step to take a more closer look to my body; To make it more resonate with my soul, so, you see, being kind can make a big impact on the world.
